Managing iPads with Intune?

Hi,

I'm trying to setup some iPads to be managed with Intune. We are already associated with Apple Business Manager and have been managing iPhones of a couple years now. I can see my iPad in the Endpoint Manager and it is responding to the profiles I've setup.

The issue that I'm having is that we really want to have almost no apps on the device except the couple we want to publish. I mimicked the setup we are using for our phones but want to go further. What is still appearing on the desktop that we want to remove are the following built-in apps:
Calendar
Photos
Camera
Reminders
Notes
Voice Memos
Contacts
Maps
Measure
Shortcuts

Essentially all we want to leave on the device at this time is Safari and here's why. These devices are intended to be used by our patients as a courtesy while they wait. Management only wants to present the browser as an option right now, we might also push the YouTube app eventually.

I've setup the devices to run in shared mode without user affinity.

Any suggestions on how to go about removing or hiding these last few apps?

Thanks in advance!

You can hide them using the Show or Hide Apps setting within Device Restrictions. See https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/configuration/device-restrictions-ios#show-or-hide-apps.

Bundle ids for built-in apps are listed at https://emm.how/t/ios-13-list-of-default-apps-and-bundle-id-s/1141

    Hi @Lu Dai-MSFT and @Jason Sandys ,

I did consider Kiosk mode but I more than half suspect once management sees how stripped down these actually are they may ask for more apps to be installed. So I decided against it for now.

The link to the list of default apps and bundle ids that Jason provided is exactly what I needed to get those remaining apps hidden. Thanks much for that!

Thank you both for the responses, much appreciated.
