Auto formatting in excel when new form submitted

So I have a Microsoft Form which I get my team to fill out to track productivity. This is linked to an excel document and auto populates every time a new form is submitted.

The issue I have is when the data populates in excel some of the number data changes to a text format. Now I can click 'Text to Columns' to change the format to number but when new data is submitted is auto formats back to text.

Is there away where I can stop it from auto formatting it?

    Hello Ben,

Per the description shared, I understand the concern facing at your end but when I check the behavior, the columns with responses are in the General Format. So, I would like to request you to share a screenshot of the problem facing at your end and the duplicate form, so we can duplicate it to test at our end.

To share the duplicate form: Open the Form> Share> Share as template> Get a link to duplicate> Copy> Share it with us.

    Best Regards,

    Chitrahaas

So the top half of the data you can see has been formatted but I have had to do that by manually formatting the whole column. The second half of the data is the new data been auto populated from a new submission on forms. This then reverts back to text.

    Hope that helps.

    Dear Ben,

Thanks for your updates and screenshots.

I'm following up on the thread with you.

From the screenshots, it seems that multiple people are working on the sheet. Please check whether the issue happens when only you are active on the sheet after a new response is submitted.

Regarding auto-populating the form data to the sheet, may I know whether you are using a flow being created in Power Automate or you just create a form in the OneDrive for Business site?

If you are using a flow, could you upload some related screenshots of the flow triggers and actions for our reference?

Note: Remove any private information before uploading the screenshots.

Thanks for your effort and time.

    Cliff
