Thanks for your updates.

The reason why I’d like you to try the following steps of embedding the Excel file into a newly opened Excel file first is that it may help us check whether the issue is related your original document.

  1. Open a new workbook in Excel.
  2. Click on a cell, then go to Insert tab> In the Text group, select Object.
  3. Go to Create from File tab, then click Browse and searched for an existing Excel file. Link to file and Display as icon is unchecked.
  4. Select OK.
  5. Saved the file as Excel Workbook.

If the issue also happens in a newly opened file, I suggest you continue with the operation I suggested before: I suggest you start your Excel in safe mode:
1.Find the shortcut icon for your Office application.
2.Press and hold the CTRL key and double-click the application shortcut.
3.Click Yes when a window appears asking if you want to start the application in Safe Mode.
see if there are add-ins that might be causing this.

Meanwhile, please provide the following information to help us solve the problem:
1.Does the file you are trying to embed still exist on your computer?
2.Provide the screenshot of the Account page in the Excel application you are using. You can access the page via clicking on File>Account. Please also provide the version number of the Windows operating system for our reference as well.
Note: Remove any private information before uploading the screenshots.

Best Regards
Ethan
