Excel protects sheets automatically

Hello,

While I was working in Excel (template prepared by my employer), some sheets automatically bacame protected wiith a password, so I cannot change formats, fill color etc. I don't know the passwrod because initially it was not protected. Some sheets just suddenly protected themselves. How can I unprotect it without knowing the password? To fill in an initial version of the template will take a lot of time :(

Thanks!

Best,

Ana.

Hi Ana,

Thank you for the reply.

Since the file has VBA macros, you can examine all macros for use of the Worksheet.Protect method or alike.

Best regards,

Jazlyn

    Hi Jazlyn,

    Thank you for your reply.

If I create a new file/tab and then copy/paste the content from the problematic sheet, the problem is gone. However the sheet contains some properties which are then gone, so I would prefer to unlock the old sheet.

If I am correct, the file has VBA macros.

    Best.

    Ana

    Hi Ana,

Sorry for the inconvenience the problem caused for you.

Based on your description, Excel protects sheets automatically on your side.

If you create a new file and then copy/paste the content from the problematic file, will the same problem happen?

Additionally, may I know that whether this workbook has VBA macros?

    Best regards,

    Jazlyn
