Hello,

I purchased Office 365 Family and I created a folder to share with family members. When someone modifies a file I get a notification on my phone but we noticed that the notification does not happen at all times.

Is this intended? Do notifications only happen once in a while?

If you set it up, once someone changes your file, it will prompt you, usually once, not always.

    Hello Paul,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and appreciate your time taken for sharing detailed information**.** I could share with you some of my thoughts on this issue.

I would like to ask what your version of Office is like? This should be designed like this. Generally speaking, if you share a document from your OneDrive with others to view and edit, it can be helpful to know when they've taken some action on that file. You don't want to have to constantly check the file in hopes you could spot the changes.

There are three different kinds of notifications you could choose to receive, let's take a moment to look at each:

    • In App - You could receive notifications right within Word, PowerPoint, or Excel, when people you've shared your file with make changes, edits, comments, etc.
    • Notification Center - When your collaborators start to edit your file, you could receive a notification in the Windows 10 Action Center or in the notification center of your mobile device.
    • Email - You could choose to receive an email notification when a change or comment has been made to your file.

If you could receive it on your phone, you should have a notification center enabled.

And you could refer to this link for details: Get notified when members of your team update your shared file (microsoft.com)

Feel free to post back if you need any further assistance.

    Best Regard,

Kevin | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
