References to external MS Access code libraries (accda files) have suddenly stopped working

I have several accdb files with code references to accda code library files.

Suddenly (2021-12-28), if any accdb database file that has a reference to one of these accda files is open, no other accdb file that also has a reference to it will open properly. Instead, the second accdb file to open throws a 'file not found' error.

If you look at VBE>Tools>References the accda files are marked as 'MISSING' (they are not - the files remain unchanged on disk).

If you remove the reference, then try to establish a new reference, MS Access gives the error 'This file is in use. Enter a new name or close the file that's open in another program' and refuses to link.

If the first accdb file is then closed however, the second accdb will then open fine with no 'file not found' errors. However, if you attempt to then open the first accdb file, the same issue occurs.

This is on accdb / accda database files that have been functioning perfectly for years. The problem emerged on several machines after 2021-12-28.

I suspect this is the result of an MS Access update. Is anyone else having this issue?

I expect this might be the same issue as reported many times in this forum. You might want to check out Daniel Pineault's page.

    Thank you Duane.

This appears to be exactly my issue. Much appreciated for pointing me in the right direction!
