Recurring error

When I open a Word, or Excel or in Outlook I get a message "We're sorry but Word/Outlook has run into an error that is preventing it from working correctly, Word/Outlook will need to be closed as a result. Would you like us to repair now?" When I click on repair it just closes the document and no repair seems to happen as the same problem recurs when I try and open another document. What should I do?

Hi Mia,

Many thanks for this advice. In the end I had to resort to deinstalling and then reinstalling Microsoft365 and this seems to have solved the problem.

With best wishes.

Hugh

    Hi HughF21,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Based on the description, it seems like after you clicked Repair button, nothing actually happened or fixed the issue. In this situation, please have a try with official Office repair feature and see if it can resolve the error issue on your side.

Click this link: Repair an Office application - Office Support (microsoft.com) and select the system you use to get the detailed steps.

Let me know the updates after running this repair feature.

    Best Regards,

    Mia
