Copy/Paste into Excel: Weird Checkbox Formatting Overlay/Not in Cell

Reference the side by side image I've included. On the left you can see a part of the website that I am trying to analyze Read and Edit Access data. On the right you can see my Excel. When I highlight the data from the website and copy / paste it into Excel the text words copy over just fine. However, most annoyingly and importantly, the checkboxes don't paste over in a usable way. The checkboxes are of their own accord, laying on top of the cells. You can see I typed "hhhh" in C8 but it is hidden behind the checkbox. What is even more odd is that I can check & uncheck the boxes and they seem somehow sorta tied to the cells because when I change the column width, they move with it.

I've tried special pasting it in many different ways (see other attachment), I've tried pasting it into a word table first, I've tried pasting it into sticky notes first, all these different ways to get it to paste in some different format but all to no avail. I have HUNDREDS of these field names that I need to analyze read and edit access and to manually confirm or deny each field name will take days.

    Hello, Madison

By the description you’ve provided you need to find a way to copy checkboxes to your Excel file with the usable formatting.

As you noticed the checkboxes are overlaying on the cell and technically represent an inserted object and would not change the width of the cells. So I’m afraid there is no proper copy/paste option for the checkboxes formatting.

We’re sorry that it doesn’t meet your requirement.

We do understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it. So to address your concern about the situation, we’d suggest you kindly leave a feedback: How do I give feedback on Microsoft Office?

At the same time, If you want to know how to manage the checkboxes you may refer to this article Enhance Your Checkboxes with Conditional Formatting in Excel - Excel Campus

If the scenario above is not consistent with yours, you can also post back and point that. And we will also keep this thread open to check if the other community members who has any suggestions can provide suggestions here.

    Thank you for your understanding!

    Best Regards,

    Igor
