Hi,

In general, I am able to copy data in excel and paste within Excel/elsewhere. However, if I copy a cell (cell is highlighted with dotted lines) but I am unable to paste under Filter drop down (Text filter->Custom Filter)

I am using Office 365 (updated as on date). I tried to resolve the issue by rebooting the computer, uninstalling and reinstalling Office 365. there are no add-ins in the Excel 365 I am using.

    Thank you Stacey.

I noticed an update availability in 'Open Excel>File>Account' option while arranging the screen shot you requested for.

The issue is resolved after I updated the product (excel).

Thank you so much for your efforts.

    Hi Sreenath

Thanks for posting the thread on our forum.

According to your description, it seems that you can’t copy  and paste cell in highlighted  under custom filter.

I’ve did a test on our environment and I’m sorry to tell you that we can’t reproduce your problem.

Please try to create a new workbook to see if the problem will happen.

In order to help us narrow down the problem and solve it, we want  to confirm some information with you:

1)Can you provide the screenshot of  Excel product information for us? Open Excel>File>Account to give a screenshot.

2)From the first screenshot in your post, it looks you are using Excel application on Windows device but the second screenshot where problem happens doesn’t seem like Excel app on Windows device because of Custom Filter window is different. So, can I know the Device OS using at your end?

3)As you mentioned, you tried uninstalling, can I know whether you tried uninstalling via Control Panel or using Uninstall tool?

    Appreciate your patience and understanding.

    Regards,

    Stacey

    Hi HemapreethaJ

Thanks for posting the thread on our forum.

Since the original op’s problem has been solved by update, but the workaround seems that can’t suit on your end. And this issue occurs again when you used the file from the others. So the root cause of your issue may be different from original poster’s.

In order to help you solve your problem better, we kindly suggest you to post a new question in our forum, and our engineers in our forum will focus on your specific scenario and provide specific suggestions.

    Appreciate your patience and understanding.

    Regards,

    Stacey
