Problems with Excel Spreadsheet After Windows 11

Friends, I am so confused.

Purchased new lenovo yogi9i a few months ago, I have Office 2016 and installed it on my computer. Everything was fine.

Did the windows 11 upgrade a few weeks ago. Now when I click on my excel file to open the documents it is sooooo slow. This was not the case before.

As I try to troubleshoot the problem, it seems that it is opening with the 365 app? I am old enough for apps and programs to be confusing to me. Am I having this problem because of some setting that is causing the file to open with the app instead of regular office?

This is not a large file and text only. I dont have a subscription to 365 (unless a free one came with the laptop)

    If you open excel in safe mode, and then open the file does the problem happen?

    Open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows key + R. ...

    Once the Run window opens, type:

    excel /safe in the input box next to 'Open'.

    Press the Return key or click OK
