Hi Emma_roc
Thanks for posting the thread on our forum.
As per your description, please don’t worry we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation.
If you wan to create a dropdown list in cells. You can follow the steps below:
- If you want to create drop down menu for a specific cell, select the cell, then click Data tab>Data validation>In settings tab, select List in the drop-down menu under Allow.
- In the Source field, type all of the options that you want in your drop-down list, separated by commas, such as yellow, blue, red, black or just Yes, No.
- Then you can see the result as the screenshot below:
- Meanwhile, if you want to create drop-down List from a Range of Values, instead of typing values into the Source field, you want to select the icon to the right.
Then will open up a small window in the screen, select the a range of cells on the worksheet, such as the screenshot below (test1-test10):
Then the window will auto-fill the range of the data you selected>click the right icon again>Click ok. Now, the values in the range that you've selected show as options that you can choose from in your drop-down list.
Hope the suggestion can help you.
Regards,
Stacey
