365 on Android

Why am I not able to activate my office365 account on my android 11 phone.

I can log In and access using a browser so everything is working. When I go to access on my phone I either get a white screen with a spinning ball or I get message that says "we are working on signing you in from another app. Please try again in a few minutes" I do not even get to the password screen?

Not sure what the issue is.

I have uninstalled the apps, deleted the accounts and started again a couple of times. Same results.

I have even triggered the app install from the web interface. Same result.

Any suggestions?

As I had already said, it works everywhere else.

I have since got a response from Tech Support for the device with these instructions that did solve the problem. It is/was a setting in android. The following is the steps taken that corrected the problem:

Please follow the steps below to ensure that the app can run in the background:
1)Settings>apps&notifications>advanced>special app access>battery optimization
—- then use the drop down to select all apps. Then don’t optimize.
2)Settings>Intelligent assistant>appblocker> Turn off appblocker
3)Settings>duraspeed(feature is deleted after android 10)
—- turn on for all apps that you want to run in the background.

Hopefully this will assist anyone else with the same problem as my issue is now resolved.

    Hi,

    Thanks for posting back.

Please now try to connect the new phone with various network environment, and check if you can sign in account on other devices with Android 11 system.

I can log into my 365 on the browser on the phone using the web portal. I can access it from my tablet and my computer using either the apps or web portal. I just cannot get the apps to work on the new phone. It still works on my old one.

    Hi,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

To investigate the issue further and provide the appropriate resolution, please check the following details and share back.

1.The screenshot of your account page to check the account status.

Go: My account (office.com) with work/school accounts, or Microsoft account | Home with personal accounts.

2.Check if you can sign in successfully in www.office.com via default browser app on your phone.

As you mentioned browser is working, if it means the browser from phone, then the issue can be related to the Office apps side. Please check if the error happens on any Office apps like Word/Excel/Outlook. Also make sure they are all updated.

3.Test on other phones to see if the same error will appear. This helps to see if the issue is related to the specific device side or the account side.

    Best Regards,

    Mia
