I have 6 licenses of Office 365 E3 month to month. I only need 5.

I have one unassigned license and I can't remove it. I was able to downgrade from 7 to 6 by using the remove license button, but now when I try to downgrade from 6 to 5, it won't allow me to save as the save button is greyed out.

How do I remove this license?

My problem was that I had one license left on the Month to Month E3 365 subscription so the only option I had was to cancel the subscription. That is why I could reduce it from 7 to 6 but not from 6 to 5.

Its an odd way of accounting but it really should have listed 2 extra licenses for the month to month (5+2) , and then 1 extra license (5+1) , as the 5 other licenses are covered in my standard Office 365 E3 license. Reducing my count down to 5 meant I didn't need the Month to Month anymore.

I called support and a tech walked me through the steps.

Thanks for the phone number.
