    Hi thank you for your help unfortunately though it didn’t work. I had tried that when I first noticed the problem and searched it up online and followed the instructions online and I tried again with your instructions but it still didn’t work I also tried installing the latest version and it didn’t change anything. Will it just be like this from now on then, cause I bought my surface because I like using word and I liked that it had the drawing feature I used it all the time.

    Hi, NikitaEm

    You can first try to reset your Word.

    Make sure that there are no files in the following folders:

    • Navigate to C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP, press Enter to check whether there is a file, if there is, delete it, if not, close it;
    • Navigate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\STARTUP or C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\STARTUP, check whether there is a professional knowledge file, if so, please also Delete it, if not, close it;
    1. Press and hold the Windows+ R at the same time, enter regedit, and press Enter;
    2. Locate the following key values in turn, and rename the word folder (right-click it and select rename, for example, rename word to wordold);

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\word

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\word

    1. Click Start, enter %AppData%\Microsoft\Templates in the search program and file, and press Enter;
    2. Back up and delete files with a .dotm suffix, such as Normal.dotm;
    3. After performing the above operations, check the problem.

    If the above steps did not solve your problem, you can try to update to the latest version of Word.

    According to our test, the latest version of Office 2110 does not currently have this situation.

    It is recommended that you could click the following link to download it.

    It’s not my component. It’s just on word the pen tool is missing and I can’t add anymore tools. As shown in the picture the only drawing tools I have are the pencil, highlighter and editing pen and the add tools options is no longer there.
