Can't Create a New Notebook in OneNote Mobile App for Android

I downloaded the OneNote app from the Google Play Store onto my Pixel 3. I noticed that when I first opened it, it did NOT ask me to sign into my Microsoft account. I'd seen a tutorial on YouTube that said it would, but it didn't ask me to do so. When it opened, it did have a Notebook set up with my first name, so it seems to know who I am. However, it won't let me rename that Notebook, and when I try to create a new Notebook with the name I want, I get the error message below. Please advise how to resolve this problem so that I can use my OneNote. Thanks!

We understand that you’re having trouble creating a notebook in OneNote for Android. Let’s check on this together and find ways to address this matter. Now for us to better assist you on this matter I need to ask the following:

    1. Have you tried restarting your mobile phone?
    2. Please consider uninstalling and reinstalling the OneNote app
    3. Please check for some updates on the Google Play store.

    Please make sure when you create a new notebook you named it without using special characters or invalid characters. Please consider creating a notebook and name it as " Test" so that we can check if the issue is with the name you setup or not.
