How do I format a date to show the ordinal? ie - 1st or 2nd or 3rd or 4th

so, 31/01/2022 would be formatted to show Monday, 31st January 2022.

Obviously, dddd, dd mmmm yyyy but how do I get the st ?

Not a different question, just clarifying what I meant. Your suggestions would work but they are "work-arounds". I am looking for the proper solution - if it exists.

Thanks. That takes care of that particular date. The whole point of formatting is to configure the cell to appear in a particular fashion even when you enter basic data. So 31/01/22 would appear as I want. If I have to amend the format for each cell I would be quicker typing in each cell in full!!

    . . . that’s a different (second) question!

    You have:-

    st

    nd

    rd

    th

     - etc.

You could just (for example) set up 4 cells with the correct format and then just use the Format Painter to get the right format.
