Hi I'm using O365. I tried to import data from web but encountered some problems. When I clicked on "from web" either nothing happened or excel just stopped responding and crashed. Can anyone show me how to fix this? Many thanks.

    Hi Hai DangNguyen1,

    Thanks for the information.

In most of the cases, repairing Office fixes the Bad image issue. Since you are still getting the issue, I suppose this is the reason you are unable to use “From web” option.

Let try another step, in Excel, please go to:

    1. File>Info> Check for Issues> Inspect Document.
    2. Tick Custom XML Data
    3. It might tell you that Custom XML Data was found, so press Remove. Then close and save.

Now re-open Excel and try again.

Besides, if you have any anti-virus installed, please disable them and check Excel again.

    Let me know the status.

    Regards,

    Neha

    Hi Neha,

Thanks for your reply. I've tried to do all the things you said but the problem still persists. Then I even uninstalled and reinstalled O365 but got another issue (bad image). I've got no problem with data import from web before, this's the first time. I attached some screenshots for you to have a look. Thanks.

This happened when I tried to reinstall O365

It just appears "loading .NET Framework" then crashes

    My version is the latest.

    Hi Hai DangNguyen1,

From your post, I understand clicking From web option either cause Excel to not respond or will crash the application.

In this scenario, please ensure your Microsoft 365 apps are fully updated. To check version information, open any Office app, such as Excel or Word, click File>Account, check for the info mentioned under Product Information. The latest version of Current channel is 2107 (Build 14228.20250). For other channel version info, see Update history for Microsoft 365 Apps (listed by date)

If the version is not updated as mentioned in the article, please install updates and check if the issue remains. To know how to install updates, see Install Office updates.

If the issue remains, do an Office Online Repair from Control Panel.

    1. Click the Start button > Control Panel. From Category view, under Programs, select Uninstall a program.
    2. Click the Office product you want to repair, and then click Change and select Online Repair.

Please try Online repair. Quick repair only detects and then replaces corrupted files, and an Online repair option will do a complete repair; it will take a few extra minutes to repair Office applications.

If the issue persists,****please provide us with the following information:

    1. Please provide the screenshot of Microsoft 365 Product Information. To get this screenshot, open Word or Excel on your system, click File>Account, capture the screenshot of all the information mentioned under Product Information.
    2. May I know if you are getting any error? If so, please provide us with the screenshot.
    3. Is this the first time you are trying to use From web option? Could you use this option before without any trouble?

    Let me know the status.

    Regards

    Neha
