Teams - A JavaScript error occured in the main process

Hello

Thank you in advance. I am trying to figure out the cause of the following error. This issue is occurring randomly for various users, and I cannot seem to find a cause but clearing Teams folders from the user profiles under the user's AppData folder seems to resolve it but I have noticed the issue has returned for some. Rather than deleting the Teams Folder from with user profiles, is there a better way to solve this? Teams is being run from within a Citrix VDI. I see that the error mentions edge-elo-api.node, is the VDI missing something perhaps?

Hi jasonMMoran,

Greetings.

Thank you for raising your concern in this community.

I looked on to this error and found out that there can be different reasons for it such as:

  • Missing or corrupted DLL files;
  • Incorrect installation of programs;
  • Outdated Windows drivers;
  • Damaged Windows Registry files;
  • Malware attacks.

What you can try beside clearing the cache.

1- Run the sfc scan. Search for the command prompt in the windows search and run as an administrator.

  • Type sfc/scannow and press enter
  • Restart the computer

2- Update the drivers

3- Run a virus scan

  • Go the windows Update & Security
  • Windows defender > open windows defender security center
  • Virus & threat protection
  • Advanced scan > full scan> scan now.

From the error you received, this is what you can also try beside clearing the cache.

If it persists using these methods, I advice you to post the question directly in our office-itpro - Microsoft Q&A as the issue is happening within a Citrix VDI.

Thank you for you understanding and cooperation.

Kind regards,

Mac

    Hi Jason, I have the exact same issue, did you ever get it fixed? And if so, what was the solution?
