OneNote Insert buttons not functioning

Question

I recently downloaded OneNote on an iPad and in every notebook most of the buttons on the Insert tab are greyed out/nonfunctional (picture below). I've tried redownloading the app with no luck, but is there some setting I need to change to enable these functions?

I believe you created the notebook in your OneDrive for business, correct?

I understand you are the owner as you created the notebooks, but menus in Insert tab still appears grayed out. Generally, the owner has the full rights in the notebook and can perform all the action.

May I please request you to create a new notebook in your OneDrive for business and check again? This will help us confirm if the issue is with the existing notebooks or the new ones too have the same issue.

Also, ensure that have clicked on the page and not selected any content, as shown below.

Besides, if possible, please confirm with your colleagues and check if Insert menus appears enabled on their end. This information can help us check if the issue is with just your account or not.

I checked in browser and the insert buttons are greyed out there as well. I only have notebooks that I've created, so I have edit access to all of them.

Hi Veronica_032,

There are no settings to change, Insert menu is by default enabled if you have edit rights on the notebook. May I know if Insert menu is disabled in the notebooks you created or the shared ones?  

The first thing, we need to check whether this is the notebook issue or OneNote for iPad. To conform, please open a browser, go to Office 365 portal sign in with your work or school account, click OneNote tile from the App Launcher. Open any affected notebook in the browser and check if the options in Insert tab really appears grayed out or are enabled. Please check both, shared notebook and your own i.e., you created.

After checking in browser, please let me know the status. Depending on this, we will proceed further to troubleshoot.
