Hello,

I was previously able to "save as" on excel but now I keep getting an error message that says:

The file could not be accessed. Try one of the following:

  • Make sure the specified folder exists. (it does)
  • Make sure the folder that contains the file is not read-only. (it is not)
  • Make sure the filename and folder path do not contain any of the following characters: < > ? [ ] : | or * (it does not)
  • Make sure the filename and folder path do not contain more than 218 characters. (it does not)

Please help!

Thanks,

P

    Hi Chitrahaas,

    A. Save as is what I'm trying to do into another location and that's the error message I get.

    B. Any excel file

    C. Image

    D. This is the only app it happens with. I have to remember to copy and paste a copy of the file every time, instead of just using "Save as"

    Thanks,

    Paula

    Hi P,

Thanks for posting in the community.

I understand that you have an issue with the Excel app while using Save As feature, as we can't reproduce the problem at our end and for moving forward, we need more detailed information about the situation you meet. So, kindly share us with the information below:

    a. Can you use Save As feature and save the file to a different location?

    b. Do you encounter this error only for a specific Excel file or any Excel file?

    c. Excel app version. Open Excel app> Account> Take a screenshot and share with us

    d. Do you encounter similar behavior with different Office apps such as Word, PowerPoint?

Thanks for your cooperation. Meanwhile, we will start analyzing the question so we can work out the solution/figure out the answer as earliest as we can.

    Best Regards.

    Chitrahaas
