if someone has it open, and then a 2nd person opens it they will not be able to amend it. normally only one person at a time can amend it.
also could be permissions that are stopping people if they are sitting in different groups etc.

There is a very large, very complex Excel document that certain users are unable to save (both back to the network share where the file is stored or locally to their computer desktops).
Other users have no problem opening, modifying and saving the file back to the network drive.
The users who cannot save the file, are able to open the file but when they attempt to save the file they get this error message:
Clicking on "Continue" does not allow us to save the file. "Repairing" just seems to corrupt the file.
Troubleshooting steps attempted: update Windows 10, quick repair of Office, online repair of Office (which reinstalled it).
The users are all able to save simple Excel documents both locally and on the network share.
The file is complex with formulas and macros so "copy/paste" the contents to a new document is not an option.
What is particularly frustrating is other users ARE able to open/modify/save this file. But certain users are NOT able to do this.
So we know the file itself is functional. But why are certain users are unable to save this file either locally or back to the network share.
Is there a fix for this issue?
These computers that are having the problem are new machines running Windows 10 with the 64 bit version of Office 365.
Thank you

Hello,
Thank you for reply but this isn't an issue of two people working on the file at the same time.
There is a team of 5 people who work on this file at various times. All five people are able to open the file but two people are unable to save the file.
They receive the error message above.
So the file itself is fine for the other three people. They can open, modify and save the file without an error message.
And it isn't a permission issue for the network either as the users can save non-complex/non-macro documents to the network location.

Hello,
The linked solution seems to indicate removing all of the macros, something my users REALLY don't want to do in this complex file.
Especially since some users have no problem working with the file.
