After sharing the sharepoint file/folder to user by sharing links, we find it not possible to remove them.

So if we shared to multiple users, but we made mistake in sharing for one user, and we wanted to remove him from this file/folder, how can we do it? It seems there is no out of box method to do it? Please kindly let us know if there is any.

  1. Sharing.

  1. Manage links

  1. No way to delete the member in "Shared with"

We understand there is a method that when shareing, click Link settings->Specify people, then we should be able to share to users and modify their access later. But a lot of users have already used the default sharing link to share with users within their own department, so this will be hard for them to delete the link totally and then add again by the "Specify people" link.

    Hi Kai Deian,

    Welcome to community.

I go through the post carefully. It seems like you want to remove user access to file/folder shared through sharing link (Share>Send link>enter user name>Send) in SharePoint.

Unfortunately I'm afraid there is no out of box way in SharePoint to remove the sharing link shared by this way. And I also understand "specific people" link is not a suitable method for the scenario on your side. I do understand it has affected your daily work and feel very sorry about it.

Given this, I sincerely recommend sharing your valuable feedback for this behavior to Tech Community, it is a specific platform to let SharePoint developers know your requirements and comments, help to improve the product and make it better for you and others.

Sorry for the inconvenience again. Your understanding is highly appreciated.

    Best regards,

    Tina
