Hi,

Is there any way that we can only remove/hide underline of hyperlinked text without removing the link of the text in powerpoint.
I tried "add hyperlink to shape" method but its not productive.

Please help me with this.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi EverdayDesigner,

Unlike the Microsoft Word, the PowerPoint don't have a Style list, so we can not format the hyperlink style directly to remove the underline.

I know the adding hyperlink to a shape trick. And as you said it is not efficient.

Here is another trick you might be interested at:

    1.Add hyperlink to your text.

2.Select the hyperlink text > Right Click > Font

3.Change the Underline Style to Single Line and the color to which match your background color, in this case, White:

So the underline will be invisible.

I do understand this is still not an ideal solution to your requirement, so we would suggest you submitting your idea in the PowerPoint feedback function, so the product team can hear your voice and might bring out some changes in the future versions.

How do I give feedback on Microsoft Office?

    Much appreciate for your understanding.

    Regards,

    Alex Chen

Here's a simple macro that will look for hyperlinks on text and apply the same hyperlink to the containing shape, then delete the original hyperlink. Being simple, it has a number of limitations, among which it won't "see" hyperlinks that have been applied to just *some* text within a text box.

    Sub HyperlinkShapes()

        Dim oSh As Shape

        Dim oSl As Slide

        For Each oSl In ActivePresentation.Slides

        For Each oSh In oSl.Shapes

        If oSh.HasTextFrame Then

            If oSh.TextFrame.HasText Then

                If Len(oSh.TextFrame.TextRange.ActionSettings.Item(1).Hyperlink.Address) > 0 Then

                    oSh.ActionSettings(1).Hyperlink.Address = oSh.TextFrame.TextRange.ActionSettings.Item(1).Hyperlink.Address

                    oSh.TextFrame.TextRange.ActionSettings(1).Action = ppActionNone

                End If

            End If

        End If

        Next ' shape

        Next ' slide

    End Sub

Thank you so much for the replay,

I tried your solution but in office 2016 PowerPoint, some letters like q,y,p,g,j got cut their tails (Image attached below).

But in your screenshot, it looks fine.

Can you tell me about this how to solve this problem?

Do I have to use the office's latest version or can I get the same result in the office 2026 PowerPoint?

    Hello,

Apologies for the delay in the response.

AFAIK, the formatting behavior should be the same in Office 2016 or Office 365 apps, however, we are sorry to convey that we are not able to test the behavior in Office 2016 apps since Office 2016 Mainstream support is ended.

In this scenario, please try to check the behavior with different presentation files and see whether their cut for letters like "q,y,p,g,j".

In addition, please also refer to the reply provided by Steve MVP in this thread and check whether it helps your situation without modifying the format every time.

    Thanks for understanding and patience!!

    Best Regards,

    Chitrahaas
