When I use Italic on my text in Excel, it overlaps. Cant seem to figure out how to fix this. Just recently started happening so I dont know what the deal is. Looks the same when printed as well.
Font is Gill Sans
Excel for Mac Version 16.47.1
Happens to all Excel Files

I'm not 100% certain that it will resolve the issue but you might try updating your software before attempting to do any troubleshooting. Version 16.51 is the present Current Channel build so the version you cited is several updates behind. Confirm that your installation of macOS is current as well.
