For level 7, did you specify that it should include the numbering of level 6 (= the A, B, C, ... sequence)? Also, click inside a Heading 7 paragraph and press Ctrl+Q. Does that fix the numbering for that paragraph?
Appendix Numbering
I have inherited a document that has some formatting problems. I am attempting to add Appendix numbering according to Shauna Kelly's web site instructions and am running into some problems. I am starting my appendix section at heading level 6. I am using the Multilevel list button in the paragraph group of the Home tab. When I use Heading 6, I get the Appendix heading I want just fine starting with Appendix A. Now when I get to Appendix B the Level 6 heading works just fine, ie, it goes from Appendix A to Appendix B. But its the second level heading (heading 7) where I run into problems. In Appendix A for the second level (level 7) I get A.1 just fine. But when I get to Appendix B it goes from Appendix B at level 6 but when I get to level 7 it stays at the appendix A. So what it does is:
Appendix A
A.1
Appendix B
A.1
So the problem is that the level 7 is not changing for Appendix B.
Now I have checked the numbering under the Multilevel list numbering dialog and it seems right; ie, the Restart List after: is checked and Level 6 is entered. So if anybody can tell me why the level 7 isn't changing for Appendix B that would be great.
