Hi
I am on hybrid setup here and I need to remove a secondary domain (not required anymore).
In EOP my default domain is contoso.com and Online is contoso365.onmicrosoft.com
The domain to remove is contosohats.com (in EOP is authoritive)
I have removed and placed on hold all mailboxes/secondary SMTP and DL's with smtp: contosohats.com
The DNS is set to Azure (MX records, TXT and CNAME for Autodiscovery)
To remove the domain contosohats.com is it as simple as delete from EOP, Online, Azure > Custom domain names?
Are there any considerations I should be aware of?
Will the mailboxes archived/held still be able to be searched in?

Thanks for coming back to me.
I was wondering if there are any other tasks associated with deleting a custom domain.
If I have covered them all then thanks for your help.

No other things you have to do as you have modified the DNS records and changed the default domain.
Now you can remove them.

Please set one of the other domains as the default domain. So you could directly delete the contosohats.com domain, you can delete it in M365 Admin Center.
Will the mailboxes archived/held still be able to be searched in?
Yes if you changed the default domain to the existing ones.
