I just purchased a new Mac and migrated everything over and now I am getting an error that I don't have access to edit and I have a view-only account. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and checked my subscription and still the same issue. When I try to activate and sign in it gives me the Unknown error that has occurred 0x0. I have a university subscription and I am unable to get my work done please help me fix this asap. Thanks!

Hi Calebak,

As you have recently switched mac and started getting the error and you are using your school subscription, please try the following suggestion:

  1. Remove Office license files using the license removal tool, then open any Office app and try to activate.
  2. Please make sure your Office apps are up to date (16.57), you may refer to this article: Update history for Office for Mac

If the issue persists, please provide us with the following information:

  1. Could you please share a full screenshot of the error message?
  2. May I know if you can see “The latest desktop version of Office” on the Subscriptions page? You can access this page via this link.

Regards,

Neha
