spreadsheets open up Skype

I am trying to open Excel spreadsheets but they keep opening to Skype. I need to get into the documents asap so any help is appreciated

I have a Microsoft 365 personal account and not previously had problems with this.

Microsoft 365 and Office | Excel | For home | MacOS

    Hello annEmariE05,

    Just for clarification, are the documents you want to open located on your computer, or are they saved in OneDrive?

    Glad to have been of assistance. If you are using windows 10, in the Settings menu, Default apps--> Choose default apps by file type, you can restore how your excel files open which in turn should change the icon after a restart.

    If you check the document properties, what does it show on the part of "Opens With"? If it is not Excel, change it to be so.
