Sharepoint App on iOS navigation issues

We have recently created our Intranet using SharePoint on-line (with hubs and sites using out of the box navigation).

However when logging into the mobile app on an iPhone we are experiencing issues with the navigation. The navigation options take you to the desired sites/pages, but when you click 'Home' on hamburger menu, then click on a navigation option (goes to the correct place), but then if you press back, the navigation destinations seems to be out of synch, so when you click on an option you end up somewhere else on another site.

It is also odd that once you are within the intranet you lose the ability to see the standard options at the bottom of the screen (News, Find and Me).

All of the above appears to work as expected if you browse the Intranet through Safari (the browser).

The issue is only observed on the SharePoint app downloaded from App Store.

Note that we have not got Global Navigation switched on our Tenant.

Anyone else experiencing similar issues with the App?

Hello and thanks for your response.

Yes the issue is consistent for all users, it is not easy to replicate on other sites, this may be related to the use of hubs and we don't have many sites set up like that. But what I can say is that the same sites work on a desktop but do not work on the mobile app. They also work on the mobile browser, so definitely an issue with the mobile app (latest version).

On the second point, if I navigate to a few layers of pages I have to click the back arrow as many times to get back to the top where I can have access to 'Me' for example. This is not the behaviour on the browser version of SharePoint on mobile.

    Hi Ana,

Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the community, I'm glad to offer help.

According to your description, I tested on my side.

For the first issue, it seems that I don't have the same problem, in your case, could you please check and provide the following information?

    1. Does the problem occur in other sites?
    2. Do other users who use iPhones have the same problem?
    3. Go to iPhone Settings > SharePoint > Reset > enable 'Clear Account Settings' > reopen SharePoint app, does the problem persist?

For the second issue, I do have same the situation, besides, I found that the bottom navigation bar will disappear no matter which site you're in. In this case,  I'd like to suggest you send feedback to tell the relevant team that you don't like this design: How do I give feedback on Microsoft Office? - Office Support

Please feel free to let me know if there is any progress.

    Best Regards,

    Arck
