One Note For Windows 10 Sync Problem

I have a university account. Recently they changed the credentials, it was problematic, in the middle of the year and it was messy. But since then I have OneDrive, all Office 365 apps and e-mails working on both my computers and a cellphone and everything was fine. A new year has begun and I am taking notes and they're not being saved. Here's the whole error. They are still saved offline indeed. On the browser OneNote seems to work perfectly. I tried an option on my Office 365 app saying "install office 365 apps" and it seemed to recognize most of the apps were already installed, so nothing really happened apart from now having "OneNote" and "OneNote For Windows 10", the latter being the one I have always used and the first the new one. I think.

I have tried a few things I saw online, including logging out of accounts and logging back in, in both OneNote and other 365 apps. I've also tried finding help through a seemingly legit website redirecting me to a "Get Help" app thus redirecting me to Microsoft Edge to speak with a collaborator in a dodgy url with a dodgy e-mail handle that suggested taking remote access of my computer, which prompted me to speak here instead. But that's another subject I suppose.

Saved Offline (error)

OneNote can’t sync your notes at the moment. We’ll keep trying.

"Sync Now" Button leads to:

Unsupported Server

The server you are trying to access is using an authentication protocol not supported by this version of Office.

The account where I'm posting this from is not the one in case.

Thank you ever so much.

Hi Gincal,

I go through the post carefully, as for the issue, here are some suggestions:

  1. Please firstbackup the notes that have not been synced up to OneNote Online at www.onenote.com
  2. Try using OLicenseCleanup.vbs tool to reset accounts for Office. Then sign in back OneNote, Open notebooks and check the result.
  3. Go to Start Menus>Settings>Account>Access work or school, disconnect all your accounts from here, then restart your PC, sign in Excel again and check the result. You may also try automate this by the tool from the link: Clear credentials from Workplace Join

If the issue still persists, could you please share information below with us for further troubleshooting?

  1. Does the issue happen on all notebooks?
  2. Have you changed anything before the issue, like install antivirus software, etc.

Regards,

Clark
