Multiple MFA notifications from Microsoft authenticator when logging into Office 365

Hi,

I receive 2 separate notifications on my Android MS authenticator app each time I log into Office 365 via Firefox.

I've combed through the app config but don't see anything there which could be related.

Any ideas why this could be happening and how I could fix it?

Hi Ankita,

I've tested Firefox in private mode and indeed I only got one notification.

Clearing all Office 365 related browser data did not work. I will next try disabling some add-ons.

    Thanks for your post in Microsoft community.

    Regarding your post, would like to confirm when this issue start to occurs and does this issue occurs when you use different browser or different system?

    Generally based on your login attempt, this verification code received. It should be possible that some browser’s cache causing this issue. You may try to clear your Firefox browser’s cache or use InPrivate mode to see if it makes any difference. Also at the time of login to Office365, we suggest to close other all open apps and browser tab. Do not access Microsoft365 from any platform and only try to login via your web browser.

    You may try to login Microsoft365 with different network (make sure there is no firewall and antivirus enable on that network side) to see if the same issue occurs. With this, we can identify if network having any issue or not.

    If still same issue occurs, you can disable MFA for your account and re-set up your Authenticator app. Your kind understanding and co-operation will be highly appreciated.
