Screen flickering when using draw function in all Microsoft apps

Question

I have had this issue with word, oneNote, powerpoint, whiteboard. When using the draw function. However it only flickers when I use the pens, the screen is fine when I use the highlighters, etc.

I have tried searching online for solutions but I only found one question: (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/screen-flickering-when-using-pen-in-word/e8114172-1ef8-4370-a9d5-4d4b764dee57), but none of the solutions given were of any help - I tried all of them. I am therefore asking again if anyone has a fix for me.

I did find a solution that fixed the problem for OTHER people who faced the same problem, their solution was:

However, when I tried this I went to the same location but I did not have the option to disable "hardware graphics acceleration"

this is what was on my screen:

(I tried to screen record the flickering of the screen but it didnt record the flickering - sorry)

Hello, After resetting my PC and reinstalling everything again, the flickering issue has been solved.

Although I am happy, it has been annoying that this was the only fix as it took a long while to sort out.

Thanks for the additional information, WillBourn. My apologies for the late reply though. I've had some technical issues on my end.

By the way, I see you have a Microsoft 365 apps for enterprise license. Would this happen to be work computer?

At any rate, there are a couple of steps I'd like you to try for this issue:

First if you create a new Windows user profile,; log out of your current profile; and log in to new profile, do you still experience the issue you described above? I've included a photo of the steps you need to follow below anew profile below.

The second thing I want you do is provide us the version of Windows you're using? We specifically need the edition and version of Windows your device is running. So please use our Which version of Windows operating system am I running? guide and the photo below for reference.

Yes the problem still occurs in safe mode.

And I have always had this problem.

EDIT: after doing some work, the flickering doesn't happen when I have another monitor connected via HDMI, so the flickering only occurs when I use the one screen which is the laptop screen

From the description you've provided it seems your screen keeps flickering when using the draw function in most Office applications especially when using the pens.

I use dual monitors myself both at home and at work to be as productive as I can and a flickering screen is quite frustrating and distracting at the same time. So let us work together as a team to get to the bottom of this issue of yours and start things off I need to ask:

1. What version of Office are you using? I specifically need the product name and full version number as mentioned in the following guide: About Office: What version of Office am I using?
2. Can you open any office apps in safe mode see if you still get the same issue? Refer to out Open Office apps in safe mode on a Windows PC guide on how to do this.
3. How long have you had this issue? Days? Weeks? Months?
