Missing Product-Keys Office

Hello,

Since about 2 weeks the Office licenses, if several are licensed in one account, maybe also on the same day , this is very confusing, no product keys are displayed. This is very inconvenient when you want to activate the licenses on different computers, because you do not know right away which license has already been used. Normally you could identify the licenses by the product keys. Now you can only try them when you log in, or you have only activated one product that day.

Is there any other way to see the product key, besides in the overview under Services & Subscriptions in the Microsoft account, or how else could you identify the licenses?

Thanks a lot already!

    Hi,

As engineers in this category have limited resources on checking one-time purchase products in a personal account, we have moved the thread to the appropriate category and let the engineers there further confirm if there have been some changes recently to remove the product keys. And if there have any workarounds to show the product key in a more convenient way.

    Have a nice day!

    Best Regards,

    Mia

As you can see, the keys are still displayed for Office H&B 2016 for example. And we could also read them in the same familiar way until two weeks ago. But about 2 weeks ago, that was changed. Our documentation is no longer possible as usual. If we activate several single licenses on the same day, we have also with subsequent activation within an Office app a drop-down menu, of the possible licenses without specifying the date, even licenses that are already in use are displayed. It does not automatically detect the free license, all are displayed, even other Office versions. Then you have to go the lengthy way by phone. Earlier this was comfortably doable thanks to the displayed key. Why this was changed is not clear to me and an alternative display of the key to identify the key would be desirable.

    Hi,

Based on some research(as engineers in this category focus on subscription products and have limited experience on one-time purchase products), it seems like the product key is not displayed online.

Kindly check: Using product keys with Office (microsoft.com)

    Best Regards,

    Mia

    Hello,

thanks for your answer. Here is the screenshot you asked for. You understood our problem, we need those keys for proper documentation, which have been displayed until 2 weeks ago.

    Hi,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Generally, one-time purchase products like Office 2019 Home&Business or Office 2019 Professional will ask users to redeem the product key to a specific Microsoft account. See: Where to enter your Office product key (microsoft.com) and Activate Office (microsoft.com).

But now, it seems like your concern is about the product key not showing under the account subscription page. If my understanding is correct, could you please share us some more screenshots for a further check?

If you are a work/school account, go My account (office.com) and share a screenshot.

If you are a personal account, go Microsoft account | Services & subscriptions and share a screenshot.

    Feel free to post back.

    Best Regards,

    Mia
