When I email an excel sheet to my accountant on my new computer, it does not come through as an excel sheet but rather ".dat" which she cannot open. How can I email my excel sheets and have them transfer as excel sheets?

re: worksheet by email

Send a workbook and attach it to the email.

The accountant should move the file to her drive and

not attempt to open it from the email.

I have had the same problem with files sent to me from a MS Outlook e-mail to my web-based e-mail. I forwarded them to myself at an e-mail I have set up in Outlook and then had no problem. Alternatively, if you can send them from an e-mail outside of Outlook you should have no problems.
