    Hi

The issue is that the 2019 is asking me for a key even though i didnt install it hence i dont have a copy of an activation key. What I had since the last year is the 365. When i reformatted my laptop I was shocked why a pro2019 was installed instead of the usual 365.

    Hi ChesterSy

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    1

Use this tool from Microsoft to remove all remnants of any previous Office Installation:

    https://aka.ms/SaRA-officeUninstallFromPC

Restart (not shut down) your PC

Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services/ and re-install Office from there

    2

If that method does not solve the problem, you may need to uninstall a previous Pro Plus licence key from your PC.

    Close any open Office application

Go to this support page, if necessary select the Command Prompt tab

    https://support.office.com/en-us/article/change...

From the drop-down menu, select the option appropriate to your system (for example, Office 64bit on Windows 10 64bit)

Follow the instructions to open Command Prompt as Admin.

Paste the first command into Command Prompt and press Enter.

Wait for that to complete, and note down the last 5 characters of the Pro Plus product key.

Paste the second command and replace XXXXX with the 5 characters you noted down.

Wait for that command to complete, and close Command Prompt

Open Word, you will then see a notification your account has Microsoft 365, click 'Get Started' and the licence on your Office will change to Microsoft 365.
