Microsoft OneDrive Shared Folder Browser Upload issues- There is not enough space in your OneDrive for this file

Hi,

A friend and I recently each set up a shared folder on OneDrive and we have shared access to each others folders by link. We are now trying to upload files into the others shared folder directly via the OneDrive web browser (i.e. we are not attempting to sync files from our PCs). We are both Microsoft 365 Personal/Family subscribers but with separate accounts. We both have used minimal amounts of our 1TB of space.

However, we are both encountering a "There is not enough space in your OneDrive for this file" messages when uploading small file size word documents/pdfs/excel workbooks into the folder shared by the other person. We are still able to upload files into via the web browser into our own respective OneDrives with no issue. Does anyone have any ideas for a suggested fix or are we missing something else?

Thanks

Hello JRam1ZS,     Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate that you've taken the time to post your concern here in Microsoft Community Forum. We understand that you’re having trouble uploading a file to OneDrive. Let’s check on this together and find ways to address this matter. Now for us to better assist you on this matter I need to ask the following:

    1. When you access the shared folder and upload a file, have you checked on the upper right-hand side of the page if you're signed in to the correct account tied up to your Microsoft 365 subscription? ( You can see a circle icon it usually has your initial or profile picture).

Now in order for us to better assist you on this matter I need to ask for a screen recording of the issue. We want to see the actual issue happening on your end and to make sure that we will not missing anything. Please make sure all the things you've performed will be included on the video.

Record your screen using Microsoft PowerPoint click here: -- Record your screen in PowerPoint .

Please upload your PowerPoint file to OneDrive click on share then click copy link and provide it here when you reply.

Here's how you upload files to OneDrive. -- Upload and save files and folders to OneDrive****

To share or copy the link of your file, please click here. -- Share files and folders in OneDrive (personal)****

We look forward to your response.
