I CAN NOT GET THE 2 SIDED OR COLOR PRINT OPTION. I KEEP RUNNING THE BROTHER DRIVE FOR THE PRINTER BUT IT WON'T LOAD.

AFTER RUNNING THE BROTHER DRIVE AND TRYING TO PRINT I GET THE MESSAGE THAT WINDOWS IS USING A GENERIC DRIVE.

HOW DO I GET THE COMPUTER TO LOAD THE BROTHER DRIVER?

Apparently the printer subsystem is an area MS made changes to. You may require a "Universal Win 11" (aka generic) driver FROM brother to get access to more of the features you are looking for. My old HP printer used to have specific drivers that were later replaced by a "universal" driver that covered many models of HP printers.

The printer driver you are trying to install apparently does not work in Win11. So when you try to print, Windows picks up a generic printer driver that does not support 2 sided or color.

    .

Go to the Brother web site and check to see if they have a Windows 11 driver for your printer.

    .

Go to their support page and ask your question there. They may be able to suggest a different driver you can use.
