Publisher Option missing

Hello. Through a keystroke I was unaware of, I inadvertantly closed a Publisher 365 document without saving. When I go to File>Info>, the "Manage Document" option is missing. It is present in Word, Excel, etc, but NOT Publisher. Is there a way to restore it, or, is it possible to recover the file in some other way. Thanks so much!

I haven't had a chance Ethan ~ too busy trying to recreate the lost work.

The issue is simple. Why is there not a Manage Document option in File >Info just as there is in virtually all of the other Office apps?

What is the purpose of "Auto Save" if there is no way to recover " lost documents?!

Finding a pubxxxxxx.tmp and changing the suffix doesn't work. Publisher says "this is not a publisher file - can't open.

Infuriating!!!! Does anyone from Microsoft actually use Publisher?

    Hi

Thank you for your update and reply:

Sorry for the inconvenience. First of all, if the Manage Document option you mentioned does not exist in Publisher, it may be related to the properties of the file. I suggest you open the file in Publisher and click File>feedback to give feedback on this issue. , Let Microsoft engineers notice this problem.

Secondly, regarding the method of restoring your files, after my search, the method mentioned in my last reply took effect in many cases. This may be one of the few solutions. At the same time, I also suggest you Feedback on this problem!

Finally, I once again apologize to you, and hope you can support and understand!

    Best Regards,
    Ethan

Thanks for the credit...that was nice of you.

Since the powers-that-be decided to do away with the Publisher forum category and dumped the 11 years and thousands of Publisher posts into the Other category, it is hard for Publisher users to find answers to their questions...or even know where to ask their questions. It is a shame to loose those thousands of posts and all that institutional knowledge.

    Hi

Thank you for your question in this community, according to your description of the problem:

I did not find this option in my Publisher, but you can try the following method to try to solve this problem:

Type %temp% in the address bar in File Explorer or Run, find a recent file with the pub prefix, change the .tmp extension to .pub, try opening the file.

In other words, when you type %temp% into the address bar or Run this will bring up the temp folder. Then sort the date modified column and look for a recent file that is named something like pub8AB4.tmp. Right-click on the file name, select "Rename", and change the extension from .tmp to .pub, and press "enter". You can try double-clicking that file or browsing to that file from within Publisher to open. If successful, do a File Save As and rename the file for future use.

This piece of advice refers to the advice of "DavidF2", I hope it can help you, and sincerely recommend that you always open your files, from the local hard drive and save them to your local hard drive in the future.

If the problem is not resolved, please provide the specific situation you are currently experiencing, whether the file is lost or damaged, and provide your Publisher version!

Thank you for your support and understanding!

    Best Regards,
    Ethan
