Excel for the Web Chart with 2 Data Series

I'm trying to create a chart that has 2 graphed data sets with Excel that's only in the browser. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to do it. If I was using the normal application version, it does this with ease, but none of that seems to transfer over to the web version. Is this just something that it can't do?

I know if I make the chart in the desktop application and then open it in the web version it recognizes that there are 2 series and you can manipulate them independently (like adding trendlines and such). But I can't seem to get it to recognize there are 2 data sets and thus should be 2 different series if I try to create it in the web version.

I have students that are trying to make graphs and I guess they can't download the desktop app so I was trying to help them with the web version, but it's being a butt and I guess I'm too dumb.

    In Excel Online all data must be placed adjacent to another, there is no way to pick different columns from a large data set

    In the Desktop version when you click "Select Data" you get a window and you can edit each series, but in Excel Online you just can write in a new range for the whole chart.

    Doesn't this have no x-axis data? It seems the 2 sets are plotted with implicit x values of 1, 2, and 3. What if I didn't want my data to plot vs. 1, 2, 3, etc.?

    Let's say I have 2 sets of data:

    X1 = 0.98, 2.11, 2.98

    Y1 = 5, 10, 15

    X2 = 1.01, 1.99, 3.02

    Y2 = 6, 9, 14

    How would a graph both those sets in 1 graph for the online version?
