Microsoft word account blocking editing

I created my word documents and now trying to access them again, they say I cannot edit them because of my email. I do not know why it is saying this all of a sudden. I logged out and logged back in, then restarted my Mac, and all it did was erase my OneNote notebooks and do nothing for my word account. Help!

Hi,

As per your description, we understand you are having trouble to edit documents in Office desktop applications (correct me if I am wrong).

Some Office 365 for education subscription such as Office 365 A3, A5 and A1 pluscomes with the latest version of Office 365 desktop application and with full functionality. On the other hand, Office 365 A1 subscription includes Office for the web only (no desktop version).

We suggest you check which the license is currently assigned to you. For confirmation, please check Office 365 subscription HERE. In the list of available services, see if it includes **The latest desktop version of Office (**please refer the screenshot below).

If your subscription contains The latest desktop version of Office and the problem persists, I suggest **** you to use the Office license removal tool and reactivate your Office your Office. For more information, see: How to remove Office license files on a Mac (microsoft.com).

In addition, when you sign out of the OneNote app, the Notebooks opened in the app will be closed but the Notebooks will not be deleted. You can still access your Notes in OneDrive if they were synced to the cloud.

Regards,

Christophe
