Office IOS app creating duplicate documents

Split from this thread.

Am having exactly the same problem. One moment it was working without issue, and now it’s duplicating the entries under recents. Quite annoying once you’ve opened several files because for each you have two identical entries. If you remove one from recents, both disappear… ‍♂️

How did you fix it?

Hi Igor,

I deleted and reinstalled the app and the issue seems to have disappeared for now. Should it recur I’ll try resetting and see how that works out.

It’s Office version 2.58 on iOS 15.3.1

I’ll make sure to take screenshots also (hadn’t done so earlier).

Thanks.

This is happening to me and it’s mega annoying. Unfortunately deleting and reinstalling the iOS app does not fix this.

Also I noticed now if I open an office document from iOS files app, which in turn launches the office app it does not save the changes/sync. To make this feature work I have to open office and open the file from within the app (navigating to my files/iCloud Drive from in here). The changes to my word docs then save and sync to my iCloud Drive.

The office app seems pretty buggy in this incarnation.
