Microsoft Authenticator - Catch 22

Hi, All was well until my phone died and I had to borrow another one. I loaded the Microsoft Authenticator app on the borrowed phone and when I tried to add my work email account to the Microsoft Authenticator app, it asked for me to authorize on the app. Of course, I don't have that as I was trying to add the account to the Microsoft Authenticator app. I'm in a catch 22 and it is unclear how I escape. Help needed please.
