Calculated column in MS lists not working properly

Hi there,

I have quite the mindboggling issue with creating calculated columns in MS lists.

I need to use both a LEFT function and the CONCATENATE function, but neither seem to work properly.

I have tried isolating the issue to see what the syntax error might be (terrible "help" with syntax errors in browser by the way!), but without luck.

I tried using the LEFT function without a delimiter for amount of characters. This works with the following formula:

=LEFT([Prioritet])

When I then expand the formula to include the delimiter, the system gives me the classic "sytax error" non-message. see below for syntax of my formula including delimiter

=LEFT([Prioritet],4)

A similar issue arises with the CONCATENATE function, but as apposed to the above described issue, this function just doesn't work, period. I have tried something as simple as the following function without success:

=CONCATENATE("A","B")

What to do here? It's quite discouraging that simple functions like this does not work properly and is extremely harmful to the trust in the functionality of the product as a whole.

    Hi Daniel,

Good day to you. Thanks for querying in this forum.

According to your description, the LEFT function and the CONCATENATE function don't work properly in your Microsoft Lists calculated column. Very sorry for the inconvenience caused at your end. We deeply understand this issue has affected your daily work.

We also tested from our side, it seems like we cannot reproduce the issue.

For troubleshooting, we'd like to confirm the following information:

1.Which browser are you using? If you try a different browser such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox, does same issue still happen?

2.Does the issue happen in a specific Microsoft list? If you try a new Microsoft list, does it work?

3.Do other users in your organization have this issue? We'd like to narrow down the situation and check if the issue only happens on your side or it's a tenant wide issue.

We appreciate your time and effort. Hope you are keeping safe and well.

    Best regards,

    Tina
