How to filter excel without affecting other users

Hello Experts,

My team is using excel on web which is shared between a group of people. Since I am not comfortable using in it on the web, I select the option "Open in desktop app" and use the same file. But when I use filters or sorting, it affects the main sheet affecting all the other users. I know in the web based excel there is an option of street view. Is there same or similar option in desktop app?? I tried searching but didn't get any results.

Would appreciate an experts advice or help on this.

Thank you in advance. Looking forward to an earliest solution.

    Hi hperacha,

We appreciate that you posted back and confirmed the information with us. We also appreciate that you spent your precious time doing those tests.

According to the screenshots you provided, you are not using the latest version of Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel, we have tested again on our side with the latest version of Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel, and we can see Sheet View, as shown below:

So we’d suggest you update your Excel to the latest version(2102 (Build 13801.20960)) to check if you can find this feature.

Please feel free to post back and let us know if it is help.

    Best Regards,

    Sukie

    Hi hperacha,

Thank you for querying in this forum.

From your description, it seems that you and your colleagues are co-authoring on one file, if you use filter to filter the data, it will affect the other, and you want to find a feature which is similar with Sheet view in Excel client.

May I know if my understanding is right? If so, we have tested it on our side with the latest version of Current Channel, and we can go to View > see Sheet View feature without any problem, as shown below:

For more details, you can refer to this article: Sheet Views in Excel

If you cannot find this feature, you can also go to File > Options > Customize ribbon > All tabs to check if you can find Sheet view, if so, you can add it, as shown below:

At the same time, could you provide the product information and version of your Excel? You can go to Excel > File > Account and provide the full screenshot of Account page.

    Best Regards,

    Sukie

    Hello Sukie,

Thank you for your response and follow up.

What you updated is for using excel in browser but I'm using the same file in Desktop mode. I select the option "Open in desktop app" and use the same file. When using that I don't find any such options of Sheet view.
