Excel clicks the wrong cells when rows/columns are frozen

This only happens when my rows and/or columns are frozen. I start clicking on the worksheet and all the sudden the mouse starts clicking the wrong place. The mouse selects a place that is based on how much of the workbook is frozen (not # of cells, but pixels). Then, when I scroll up, the first row will show as both a hidden and non-hidden row.

For example, in the screenshot below, if all cells are 20px high, and I have two rows frozen, Excel will select 40px below where the mouse is clicked (click B4, selects B6).

I have a touch screen laptop, and it does the same thing whether I click the mouse or touch the screen.

    Hi,

The freeze issue is typical if you actually have the windows split rather than frozen. Try removing split screen and freeze panes and then freezing the panes. See if that helps.

    Jen,

I repaired the application and haven't had the issue yet, but it has always been sporadic. I'll let you know if/when I see it again.

    Shane,

I don't have windows split, so that isn't the issue, but thank you for the input!
