Issue with adding hyperlinks to a location within the same document

I followed the steps in this tutorial: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/add-hyperlinks-to-a-location-within-the-same-document-1f24fc4f-7ccd-4c5f-87e1-9ddefb672e0e. However, when I tried to create the hyperlink, there is no bookmark for me to choose, as the screenshot shows:

What step did I do wrong? How can I fix this?

I use Macbook pro and latest version of word I think.

Microsoft 365 and Office | Word | For business | MacOS

Hi Youna111,

 

I go through the post carefully. I test on my side in word for mac however I don’t get the same issue. as per steps in link you referred, you need to Mark the hyperlink destination with a bookmark before you can link to that location. May I know have you insert bookmark? I would suggest you try select a place in your document>Insert>Bookmark>Name the bookmark as a_1, then check if you can hyperlink to the location.

 

If the issue persist, could you please share information below with us?

  1. If you select insert>Bookmark, can you see your bookmark in bookmark list here?
  2. Does the same issue happen on other documents?
