Excel and expanding data

I'm making a calendar for my group and I want in the calendar when I click on a date there is a box next to the calender that will expand on all events happening that day. is that possible?

    Looks like this is achievable using Macro, but to be sure, can you please share more details about it, like where you'll be writing all the events for a day (you mentioned that in a box right to it but what's this box, a cell)? Please share the screenshot of how it looks like, then we can decide whether we just want to show/hide the Shape with that day's events details or if we want to expand the cell having all the events for that day.
