I have a large sharepoint page that has forms categorized by multiple different departments. I'm trying to add sub links to each page so that you can jump to each department from the navigation bar. I did this by using the link to each department header which is the page link ending with "#departmentname".
This worked for my first two pages, but for my 3rd and 4th pages it resets the link after I save it to the regular page link without the "#text" line at the end. I don't understand why it keeps getting rid of the last part of the link and why it worked for my first two pages but not the last two.

Hi Shaw,
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
Based on the description, we tried to do some tests on our side and it seems like the same disappearing issue happened in my test site too.
When I edit in the Navigation Menu and copy the link ending with #sometext to add a quick link, the moment I click Ok to save it, the #sometext part in the link will just disappear immediately.
As forum engineers here kind of reproduced the same issue as your side, it is suggested to open a support ticket to ask the escalated engineers in that support channel to further investigate the potential bug. Really sorry that forum engineers have limited resources to the background redirect process of SharePoint sites.
Appreciate your understanding and have a nice day.
Best Regards,
Mia
