    In what context do you see these "skipped lines"?

    If you mean that you see vertical spacing when you press Enter, note that the Normal style usually includes some Spacing After. You can change this, if you wish, in the style definition.

    Have you tried closing MS word for a while then try opening it again? Does it still do the same?
