'Group by' function throwing an error in one folder only and no others

Hi,

I have a problem with one column in one specific location that when you select group by, it throws up the following error: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'childitemKeys') - see below image:

This is happening on one folder within a document set, the other three folders group by successfully.

I have created a 'workaround' for the user by creating a new view which groups by this column and it works fine but it's not really a fix and concerned that this could start happening in more locations.

Any advice would be greatly received.

Thank you

    Hi Vikki,

Thank you for querying in this forum.

From your description, it seems that you cannot use specific column to group and it appeared an error message.

And only this specific folder has this problem and the others work fine. At the same time, you have found the workaround to create a new view.

May I know if my understanding is right? If so, we have also tested it on our side, and we cannot reproduce the same situation.

At the same time, we have also searched a lot and we found some similar issue and they solved it via creating a new view, but we may not find the root cause.

Given this situation, we do understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it. Since we cannot reproduce the same situation as yours and currently only one folder has this problem, it may need to be checked from background. The best way to troubleshoot the issue is to report the issue to the related Team. We’d suggest you contact your office 365 administrator to go to Office 365 Admin Center-> Support-> New Service Request, the support engineers there have the correct escalation channel and this is the most efficient way to report such issue. You can refer to this article to check the way how to raise a ticket. Ways to contact support for business products - Admin help.

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. I hope that you are keeping safe and well!

    Best Regards,

    Sukie
